OWNER, CEO
Van Guthrie, DDS
Dr. Van Guthrie is a third-generation dentist dedicated to providing personalized dental care to the Bristol community. A proud graduate of Tennessee High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Tennessee and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis.
After completing his education, Dr. Van returned to his hometown, where he now resides with his wife Sarah, son Jonah, and their dog Nala. When he's not in the office, he enjoys traveling, hiking, running, and spending time on the lake.
Dr. Van is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the First District Dental Society. Dedicated to his community, he volunteers with Believe in Bristol and Healing Hands Health Center.
DENTAL HYGIENIST
Amanda Adams
Amanda Adams has been a trusted dental hygienist with Dr. Van’s predecessor, Dr. Craig Rockett, for 20 years and is excited to continue practicing dental hygiene at Southside Dental.
A graduate of East Tennessee State University with an Associate of Applied Science degree, Amanda is dedicated to providing top-notch dental care.
She lives in Kingsport with her husband Brett, daughter Kaitlyn, son Blake, and their beloved pets. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, traveling, and watching her son play golf.
She values her personal and professional relationships with her patients and always strives to deliver the best care.
DENTAL HYGIENIST
Dana Lindamood
Dana Lindamood brings a wealth of experience to Southside Dental. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from East Tennessee State University.
She is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association and holds dental hygiene licenses in three states.
Dana lives in Bristol with her husband and their golden retriever. In her free time, she enjoys quilting, painting, and horseback riding.
Dana is passionate about educating her patients on the importance of oral hygiene and enjoys building lifelong connections with them.
DENTAL ASSISTANT
Angel Pruitt
Angel Pruitt completed her dental assistant training at Ross Medical Center in Johnson City, TN, and is certified in coronal polishing.
In addition to her role as a dental assistant, Angel is a beautician, ordained minister, and Tennessee State Notary.
A proud mother and grandmother, Angel enjoys cooking, singing, Latin dancing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends in her free time.
She is committed to providing a warm and welcoming environment for all her patients, ensuring they receive the highest level of care.
SCHEDULING COORDINATOR
Lori Hutson
Lori Hutson, a Bristol native, has been with the practice since 1989. She holds an Associate in Applied Science in Dental Assisting from Bristol College and is a Nationally Board Certified Dental Assistant.
Married with two daughters and four granddaughters, Lori enjoys spending time with her family and church community, as well as scenic drives and beach trips.
The bonds she has formed with patients over the years are what she values most about her long-standing career in dentistry.
DENTAL ASSISTANT
Mel Weaver
With 27 years of experience as a dental assistant, Mel Weaver is an invaluable member of the Southside Dental team.
She graduated from Virginia High School and obtained her Dental Assistant license from Washington County Adult Skill Center.
A Bristol native, Mel enjoys University of Tennessee football, concerts, and traveling.
She has been assisting Dr. Van for over three years and looks forward to continuing to serve the Southside Dental patients with care and enthusiasm.
INSURANCE COORDINATOR
Megan Jenkins
Megan Jenkins has over seven years of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant and has recently transitioned to managing scheduling, insurance benefits, and billing at Southside Dental. She maintains her assisting license and skills to assist chairside when needed.
Married with one son, Megan enjoys pottery, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
She loves building relationships with patients and helping them navigate their specific dental needs.
